# Public API and webhooks

> Create, edit, organize, export, and monitor Tella videos programmatically with the public API and webhooks.

Tella's Public API lets you build complete video workflows programmatically. You can:

* Upload source files and create videos.
* Add or edit clips, cuts, layouts, zooms, masks, overlays, sound, captions, backgrounds, thumbnails, and chapters.
* Search video titles and transcripts, read metadata, organize videos with tags and playlists, and start exports.
* Subscribe to webhooks for activity in Tella, including video, playlist, transcript, and view events.
