You can set different animation styles for layout transitions and zooms in the editor. Both controls have seven steps, from Gentlest to Snappiest.
Change the layout animation style
- Open your video in the Tella editor and click Layout in the sidebar.
- Click Layout settings (the sliders icon in the panel header).
- Under Animation, drag the slider to choose a style. Release it to save.
The layout style applies throughout your video. Changing it does not change how your zooms animate, even if they previously used the same style. New recordings start with the layout style you last chose.
Change the zoom animation style
- Open Effect in the editor sidebar.
- Under Zooms, expand Advanced zoom settings.
- Under Animation style, drag the slider to preview a style; release it to save.
The zoom style controls how zooms ease in, out, and between each other. It applies throughout the video unless you turn on Adjust this clip only in Advanced zoom settings. That option appears when your video has more than one clip.
Which styles can I choose?
Both sliders offer Gentlest, Gentle, Relaxed, Moderate, Brisk, Snappy, and Snappiest. Use the gentler end for slower movement or the snappier end for quicker movement. Moderate is the middle step; preview your video to find the right pace for each type of transition. Last modified on September 29, 2026
