Tella analytics shows who watched your video, how much of it they watched, and where views came from, for a single video, a playlist, or your whole workspace. Open it from the view count on a video’s view page, More (…) → Analytics in the editor, or Analytics in the left sidebar.

Before you start: why totals may not match

Tella has only been tracking the full set of detailed analytics since January 30, 2026. Because of that, you may see a mismatch between:
  • Total views shown on the video, and
  • The detailed analytics shown in charts and breakdowns
If a video had views before January 30, those views can appear in the video’s total view count, but they will not appear in the detailed analytics.
Watching your own video while signed in as its creator does not count toward views, unique viewers, watch time, or percentage viewed.

View analytics for a specific video

  1. Open the video as an editor or creator.
  2. Click the view count on the view page, or open More (…) → Analytics in the editor, to see the full breakdown.
On mobile, the view count appears below the video title, alongside the creator name and publishing date when those are shown. On desktop, it appears in the bar beneath the player. The view count must be enabled in Viewer settings and the video must have at least one view for it to appear.
Only editors and creators of a video can open analytics. If you are a viewer, you can see the view count on the video but cannot click through to detailed analytics.
On the video analytics page, you will see a summary of core metrics, including:
  • Total views
  • Unique viewers
  • Watch time
  • Percentage viewed
You will also see deeper insights, such as:
  • Engagement over the video’s duration, showing how people interact throughout the video
  • Views over time, showing when views happened
  • Views, including how far each recent viewer got
  • Traffic sources, showing where viewers came from (for example, the community if that is where you shared it)
  • Viewer locations, showing where viewers are based
In the Views section, you may also see details like the viewer’s city and country, device type (for example, mobile), and how much of the video they watched.

Customize the video funnel

The Funnel shows how viewers move from opening your video page to playing and completing the video. If your video has a call-to-action button with clicks, Clicked CTA also appears as the final step. To focus the funnel on specific steps:
  1. Click Configure beside the Funnel heading.
  2. Select or clear Page opens, Played video, and Completed video.
The first visible step becomes the 100% baseline, and the remaining percentages recalculate from it. Your selection resets when you leave or refresh the analytics page.

Are bot visits included in page opens?

By default, Page opens excludes detected automated visits, such as email-security link scanners, that open your video page without playing it. If a detected visit starts playback, it counts as a normal page open, including when someone watches from a cloud computer or VPN. To include detected bot visits in your video’s funnel:
  1. Click Configure beside the Funnel heading.
  2. Select Show bot visits.
This adds those visits back to Page opens and recalculates the funnel percentages. It does not change views, watch time, or engagement. Show bot visits is off by default and resets when you leave or refresh the analytics page.
Bot filtering only applies to visits recorded after October 6th, 2026. Older page opens remain unchanged, and not every automated visit can be detected.

View analytics for all videos in your workspace

  1. Click Analytics in the left sidebar.
This view shows analytics across all of your videos, including:
  • A summary of key stats at the top
  • Visualizations for views and engagement
  • Top performing videos
  • Top traffic sources
  • Top locations
You can drill down further to see full rankings for videos, traffic sources, and locations.

View analytics for a playlist

You can also view analytics for a playlist to understand how a group of videos performs together.
  1. Open the playlist.
  2. Click … (Playlist options) and choose Analytics.
Playlist analytics can help you:
  • Identify the top performing video within the playlist
  • Understand where playlist traffic is coming from (for example, embeds on a Notion page)
  • See top viewer locations for the playlist
  • Review engagement and views over time across the whole playlist
This is especially useful if you use playlists for an online course, a training library, or customer onboarding. It gives you visibility into whether viewers are engaging with the content you shared.

How far back can I see analytics?

30 days, unless you’re on Premium. Premium extends the date range to 12 months and all time. On other plans, date ranges longer than 30 days are locked in the date picker and prompt you to upgrade.
