- Before you start recording — when your browser provides a reliable storage estimate, Tella checks that it reports at least 2 GB available. If it doesn’t, recording will not start.
- During a recording — if Chrome rejects a browser-storage write, Tella stops to protect the recording captured so far.
Privacy-focused browsers such as Brave may cap or obscure storage estimates. Tella ignores those estimates and lets you start recording. If the browser later runs out of storage, Tella still stops safely to protect the recording captured so far.
First, restart Chrome
Close every Chrome window, reopen Chrome, reload Tella, and try a short test recording. This makes Chrome recalculate its available browser storage and often resolves an incorrect quota report. If you use the web recorder
If the warning returns, clear the site data Chrome stores fortella.tv:
- Wait for every Tella upload to finish, then download a copy of any important recent recording.
- Open
chrome://settings/content/allin Chrome. - Search for
tella.tvand click the trash icon next to it. - Reload Tella, sign in again if prompted, and make a short test recording.
If you use the Chrome extension
Restart Chrome and try a short test recording. Do not cleartella.tv site data: extension recordings use a separate Chrome storage area, so clearing the website will not fix the extension quota.
If the warning returns, message us before removing or reinstalling the extension so we can check whether recording data still needs to upload or be recovered.
