When you embed a Tella video on your website, you might want to make sure it only plays on your approved domains. Domain restriction lets you specify exactly which websites can host your embedded videos, preventing unauthorized use on other sites. This is especially helpful for paywall’d courses or if you’re creating content for a client’s website, internal company resources, or any situation where you need to control video distribution.

Setting up domain restriction

From the Share menu

  1. Open your video in the Tella editor.
  2. Click on the Share button.
  3. Change your Access setting to Embed Only
  4. Enter the domains where you want your video to be restricted to (for example, “tella.com”).
  5. Add multiple domains by comma separating the list of domains. For example, “tella.com, tella.tv”

From the view page

  1. Navigate to your video’s view page.
  2. Change your Access setting to Embed Only

What happens when it’s enabled

Once domain restriction is enabled, your embedded video will only play on the domains you’ve specified. If someone tries to embed your video or play your video through the Tella view page , they’ll see a message saying “No access.”
