Turn on Eye contact in Layout → Adjust to make your camera recordings look toward the lens, even while you read your notes. Once processing finishes, the corrected recordings are used in playback and exports.
- Open your video in the editor and select a clip with a camera recording.
- Click Layout in the left-hand toolbar, then open Adjust.
- Turn on Eye contact under the camera controls.
- Wait for Preparing your camera… to finish, then play your video to check the result.
Eye contact applies to the whole video, not just the selected clip. If your video has multiple camera recordings, you’ll see how many are ready while the others are processing.
Eye contact changes your webcam recordings. It does not change screen recordings or uploaded video files. The switch is unavailable when your video has no eligible camera recordings.
As each corrected camera recording becomes ready, Tella starts using it. Recordings that are still processing keep their original appearance until they finish.
What if a camera can’t be processed?
If processing fails for a camera, that recording keeps its original look. Other cameras that finish successfully still use their corrected recordings.
You may see Couldn’t prepare every camera. Those keep their original look. Play your video to check which recordings changed.
Open Layout → Adjust and turn off Eye contact to use your original camera recordings again across the video. This also restores their original appearance in playback and exports. Last modified on October 8, 2026
