Drag playlists in the left sidebar to reorder them, and use … (Playlist options) → Sort by inside a playlist to order its videos by Custom, Date added, Last modified, Date created, or Alphabetical. Published playlists can also autoplay videos in sequence.

Reorder playlists in the sidebar

If frequently used playlists are buried at the bottom of your sidebar, drag them higher.
  1. Click and drag: Locate the playlist you want to move in the sidebar.
  2. Move: Click and hold the playlist, then drag it to your desired position in the sidebar (e.g., to the top if you use it often).
  3. Release: Release the mouse button to drop the playlist in its new location.
This method works for both workspace and personal playlists, allowing you to arrange them in an order that best suits your workflow or preferences.

Collapse the playlist list

Click the chevron beside Playlists to hide or show your Personal, Shared, and Workspace playlist sections. Tella remembers your choice on that device. The + menu and Trash remain available while the playlist list is collapsed. A globe beside a playlist means its link is public or password-protected.

Sort videos within a playlist

  1. Access sorting options: Open the playlist and click the … (Playlist options) button, then hover Sort by.
  2. Default sorting: By default, videos use Custom order, the order you arrange them in.
  3. Change sorting: Pick one of the choices under Sort by:
    • Custom: a manual order you arrange yourself (the default for new playlists).
    • Date added: when videos were added to the playlist, Newest first or Oldest first.
    • Last modified: when videos were last edited, Newest first or Oldest first.
    • Date created: when videos were created, Newest first or Oldest first.
    • Alphabetical: by title, A-Z or Z-A.

Arrange videos in a custom order

Custom sorting is particularly useful for public playlists where you want to guide your audience’s viewing experience.
  1. Enable custom sort: Select ‘Custom’ from the sorting options.
  2. Drag and drop videos: Click any video within the playlist and drag it to the position where you want it to appear.
  3. Save order: Once you’re satisfied with the arrangement, the order is automatically saved.
Note: Any changes you make to sorting or ordering appear in the public view of that playlist.

Choose the default view for a public playlist

You can decide whether viewers see your public playlist as a grid of thumbnails or a compact list. This sets the layout the playlist opens with for everyone.
  1. Open the share modal: On the playlist you want to change, click Share playlist and go to the Publish tab.
  2. Set the default view: Under Default view, use the toggle to choose Grid or List.
  3. It saves automatically: Your choice is saved right away and becomes the default layout for every visitor.
Viewers can still switch between grid and list for their own visit, but your default is applied each time the playlist loads.

Automatically play videos in sequence

You can automatically move viewers through a published playlist in its current display order.
  1. Open the share modal: Open the playlist, click Share playlist, and go to the Publish tab.
  2. Turn on autoplay: Enable Autoplay videos. The setting saves automatically.
  3. Share the playlist: When a viewer opens a video from the playlist, playback starts automatically. At the end, an Up next screen counts down for five seconds before playing the next video.
Viewers can select Play now to continue immediately or Cancel to stay on the current video. Autoplay stops after the last video in the playlist.
Autoplay only applies when a viewer opens the video from the playlist. A direct link to an individual video does not continue through the playlist.
The Default view and Autoplay videos options only appear once the playlist is published, and require publish rights on the playlist.
