A playlist groups related videos under one link you can share with your team or with people outside Tella. Create one with the + next to Playlists in the left sidebar; a video can be in several playlists at once.

Create a playlist

  1. Click the + next to Playlists in the left sidebar and choose New playlist.
  2. Pick an Icon, enter a Name and an optional Description, then click Create playlist.
  3. Tella opens the sharing step. On the Share tab, choose who can access the playlist (Only you or Everyone in workspace, or add specific people) and copy the link. On the Publish tab, turn on Publish to web to let anyone with the link view it, and set Password protection or Search engine indexing if you need them.

Add videos to a playlist

You can add videos to a playlist from several places:
  1. In My videos, hover over a video and click Add to playlist, then select the playlists you want to add the video to.
  2. From the view page or editor, click the video title in the top-left of the page and select Manage playlists from the dropdown menu. This option is available if you are the video creator or an editor.
  3. By dragging a video card from your library directly onto a playlist in the left sidebar. The playlist row highlights when you hover over it to show it’s a valid drop target. Release to add the video. You can also select multiple videos first and drag them all at once. A confirmation message will appear showing how many videos were added.
When you select a playlist in Manage playlists, your change saves immediately and the picker closes so you can see it under Current playlists. Click the Search field again to add the video to another playlist.

Share a playlist

What you see when sharing a playlist depends on your role:
  • Managers and creators see a Share playlist button. Creators can change sharing settings such as access level and password. Managers can open the dialog to see who has access, but they cannot change these settings. Both can add or remove videos. For public or password-protected playlists, a Copy link option appears alongside the share button.
  • Viewers see a Copy link button only. Since viewers cannot change sharing settings, the share dialog is not available.
When you give someone playlist access, choose Can manage to make them a manager or Can view to make them a viewer. Can manage does not let them edit the videos inside the playlist; video editing access is granted separately for each video.
